Several people have asked if they can download a copy of the
JukeOla project.
While we have installed JukeOla for a couple of friends, we don't do this
anymore. The reason is that the software is heavily customized
for our hardware environment. It expects to find our particular
network, our particular stereos, and several specialized pieces of equipment.
If you really want to set up somthing similar for yourself, you have several
options that are much easier to get and use than JukeOla is. I usually recommend
Apple's iTunes these days. It's available
for Windows and Mac, and has most of the features of JukeOla.
You might also consider
WinAmp or SnackAmp
or even the latest from the Real Audio people.
One solution that looks interesting is the Myth TV
project. This is an open source attempt at a Linux-based media server, which includes
a jukebox feature.
One product that provides similar functionality to JukeOla is the
MediaMVP
from Hauppauge. I have a little bit
of experience with this one, and it seems to work well. Similar products include
the SoundBridge
from RokuLabs.
Another option may be the Sonos product.
This is a commercial product line that offers most of the same features found in
JukeOla, including a wireless handheld remote.
